Updated April 13, 2026.

The Facts

  • Annual Fee: $695; free authorized users who won't receive United Club membership.

  • Signup Bonus: 115,000 miles + 3,000 PQP after you spend at least $5,000 within 3 months of new account opening. Based on anecdotal reports, this card is subject to Chase's 5/24 rule (you won't be approved for this card if you have opened 5 or more new accounts within the past 24 months; any new account with any issuer will count, not just with Chase; new accounts include most credit cards and charge cards but exclude non-Chase business cards and store charge cards). • Protection: United Club Visa offers the second highest level of consumer and travel protection among Chase cards.

  • Other Facts: this card has a metal design and weighs about 13 grams, much heavier than regular plastics weighing 5 grams.

  • The History: In 2012, Chase United MP Club Card replaced Chase Continental Presidential Plus (the old United MP Club Visa was discontinued for about a year before the introduction of the new Club Card) and it has many similar features as its predecessor. In June 2015, Chase increased the annual fee from $395 to $450. In March 2020, Chase upgraded the card from Visa Signature to Visa Infinite and increased the annual fee from $450 to $525, changing rewards structure from 2-1.5 to 4-2-1. In September 2021, Chase added a few minor perks to the card, including 10% discount on economy Saver Awards, companion upgrades for cardmembers that are also United Premier elites, a one-time 10K miles bonus for CLEAR, and IHG Platinum status plus IHG $75 annual credits. At about the same time, cardmembers lost the complimentary Hertz's top tier President's Circle status. In March 2025, Chase introduced another revamp of the card by increasing the annual fee from $525 to $695, adding various annual credits ~$900 ($200 for RHR, $200 for JSX, $240 for Instacart, $150 for rideshare, $100 for Avis/Budget), 5x miles on RHR purchases, and enhanced PQP earning capability (1 PQP per $15 spent instead of per $24 previously), 10K-mile discount per $20K spending (up to twice per year), but taking away Star Alliance lounge access for cardmembers who don't spend at least $50K per year. Effective April 2, 2026, United introduced enhanced benefits for Chase United cardmembers who will earn additional 3x miles on United flights over non-cardmembers, save 10% miles on United awards flights over non-cardmembers (15% for elite cardmembers), and gain greater access to business class Polaris saver awards.

The Math
Chase United Club Visa has a hefty $695 annual fees and up to ~$900 annual credits which can't be taken at face value. You will need to decide your own value for these credits. For example, we value them at $300 so the effective annual fee becomes $395 for us. With that, it offers a great 8/5/2/1 rewards earning structure, United Club access, PQP earning opportunity, 10-15% miles discount on United flights, 10K-mile discount per $20K spent (up to twice per year), and hotel and car rental privileges. For an United flyer who also travels internationally frequently, spending $50K per year may justify due to the All-Access membership with expanded lounge coverage through Star Alliance partners.

The Conclusion
If you are a United flyer who needs United Club access, the new United Club Visa Infinite (2020-) is very likely your only choice unless you qualify for the exclusive JPM Reserve.
